Latest Thoughts
… well, sort of. This is part three of my “Metablogging” series, which initially was planned as one post. Part 1 introduces my new blog, and explains why I am ditching WordPress.com, from a technical perspective. Part 2 is a (re-)introduction of myself. And this post explains what to expect from me in the blogosphere, if that is still a thing. I’ve only recently heard, that IndiWeb is a thing now, and it is basically just having web pages like you used in the 90s. So maybe “IndiSphere” as the new blogosphere is coming up next? If it is, don’t forget that you heard about it here first! 😉
Initially, this was the title I was planning for my very first blog post, or to use it as my tagline. But it seems weird to name your first post like this after nearly a decade of inactivity like this. Or have I been inactive? And didn’t I post my first blog post on 15th May 2008? Let’s dial back a bit…
In the last post I mentioned that my original introduction had turned into a bit of a beast, so I decided to split it into smaller parts. This is the second post of that series and it is about the blogger. So finally, I can say:
“Hi there, I’m pygospa, nice to meet you!”
In this post I’d like to introduce myself, talk about the things I spend my free time with, and about my profession, so that you get an idea of what interests me, as these interests will most definitely also influence the topics on my blog. And it’s always nice to know who’s blogging, isn’t it?
Yesterday, when I started conceptualising my first post, (which soon became two posts, and now probably three? 🙈), I thought that I might get away with not starting a blog with a post called “Hello, world!”. Turns out, I couldn’t! 😅
In this post I am going to share with you, why I set up a new blog, and how I set it up.
The reason why I didn’t want to post a “Hello, world!”, was that I thought I had already done it so many times. The funny part is: I never did. Didn’t do it on my old blog, didn’t do it on Facebook, didn’t do it on Instagram, for sure didn’t do it on Twitter (didn’t check, though).
But from all these places, this is actually the one where it fits the best!
